While home improvement is top of mind, it seemed appropriate that this months “Brand Battle” review the two leading retail chains serving that market, Lowe’s and Home Depot. Lowe’s, established in 1946, has more than 1,700 locations across the U.S. and a strong e-commerce presence. Home Depot, established thirty years after Lowe’s, has grown into a network of more than 2,200 location.
Using our Brandify technology we measured each brand’s local marketing efforts across our, “Six Pillars of Local Search Optimization,” discovering the strengths and weaknesses of each brand. The data was pulled and analyzed across various channels, including Google, Bing, Facebook, Yelp, Foursquare, and Where2GetIt’s Social Data Matching (SDM) technology. Data from these sources was rolled into the Brandify analytics engine to test the two companies’ local digital marketing footprint to determine a Brand Score.
It was a close battle, but only one national home improvement store came out on top.
